Homosassa – Crystal Chevrolet Homosassa is one of 17 Chevrolet dealers from the Tampa
area that partnered with local youth baseball leagues and helped raise $198,400 in total do-
nations from the dealership and private parties in the area. During the 2009 baseball season,
South Levy Little League received both monetary and equipment donations as well as the
opportunity to raise up to $10,000 through a unique fundraiser. Thanks to Crystal Chevrolet
Homosassa and the other participating Chevrolet dealers in the Tampa area, youth league
members also had the opportunity to attend an instructional baseball clinic with professional
instructors.
Crystal Chevrolet Homosassa partnered with the South Levy Little League because
of the league s proximity to the dealership. Over the course of the season, Crystal Chevrolet
Homosassa donated team equipment kits, which included equipment bags, ball buckets,
coach s clipboards and t-shirts and made a $500 donation to South Levy Little League. The
dealership also helped donate a Chevy Malibu and Chevy Traverse, which was raffled off
by participating leagues, including South Levy Little League. Another exciting component
of Chevy Youth Baseball was the youth baseball clinics led by Tampa Bay Rays which pro-

According to Florida Highway Patrol Trooper W H Sheheane, Eugene Powell, 75, of
Graceland Shores (only blocks from his home) Inglis was traveling westbound on Hwy 40 at
the big curve east of Peaceful Acres shortly after 5 pm Monday. The Troopers report said Pow-
ell said he blacked out due to low blood sugar.Powell traveled onto the north grass shoulder
and began to rotate clockwise. The 2007 Honda then became airborne for approximately 35
feet. The Honda’s left front collided with an oak tree and overturned on it’s left side. Pow-
ell was transported to Seven Rivers Hospital. South Levy Fire Department with Chief Roger
Crossman was first on scene and handled the wreck with the FHP Photo by Sally Price
