Citrus Animal Shelter closed next two Mondays
Pet Patrol
The Citrus County Animal Services shelter in Inverness received the initial pest
control treatments Monday required in the shelter’s regular maintenance program.
Three more treatments are required to complete the process, however, and that will
make it necessary to close the shelter’s kennels to the public for three successive upcoming
Mondays: Sept. 29, and Oct. 5 to allow for the additional pest control treatments.
Shelter Operation Manager Pattie Amon said the treatments are routine but are so
disruptive the kennels have to close to the public for the day. The front office will remain
open. The public may continue to view the shelter’s website at www.citruscritters.com to
search for a pet and see what is available on those three days when the kennels can’t be
visited. For more information, call Animal Services at 726-7660.
