         Money raised in 30 days
The Homosassa Civic Club does it again; another large donation will move the club's
dream of a Citrus County food distribution center a little bit closer. The latest funds came by
something as simple as  coin jars. According to Diane Toto, Homosassa Civic Club
member, spare change jars were in place for the month of June while Sweebay market finished
remodeling. Thirty days of register change netted a sweet $3890.45 for the club's effort of a
new community distribution center for Citrus County. "It all adds up," said Ms. Toto. She
added, "I think it is important for people to know how generous people were. Those jars
were only in place for 30 days!" Sweetbay is on route 44 in Inverness in the building previ-
ously operated by Kash and Karry.
North Florida Emergency Blood
In Short Supply
(Gainesville)LifeSouth Community Blood Centers, headquartered in Gainesville, Fla., expanded
a recent blood appeal to include all of their operating areas in Florida including the Citrus,
Civitan, Marion, Hernando, Putnam and Suwannee Valley regions. Some of the centers have
less than a day's supply of blood in reserve, which is creating real concern for blood center
officials. All residents are asked to give blood.
"Blood donations haven't kept pace with demand and we've had a very tight supply
for the past few weeks. But today several patient situations involving children and adults
facing life threatening medical conditions depleted the reserve supplies. We're worried about
