Rebecca Jetton was
hand-picked by the town
council  as  Yankeetown’s
Zoning Official to stop “the
developer” and rewrite the rules (Amend-
ed Comprehensive Plan). Like her prede-
cessor, Stan Moore, she didn’t last very
long. Following just one year of service
she abruptly left, leaving the Amended
Comp Plan in disarray and the town mired
in litigation.
Last week, almost two years
later, she was called back into service to
help defend Yankeetown’s proposed new
Amended Comp Plan before an adminis-
trative judge at the DOAH Hearing at the
Inglis Community Center.
In my opinion, Jetton’s night-
mare started back in 2007 when she, with
other elected and appointed Yankeetown
Officials, decided to review zoning of-

(Citrus Springs) Since Thursday,
vestigating the tragic death of a Citrus Springs toddler.
Shortly after 9 a.m. yesterday morning, deputies responded to 7828 N. Hale Drive
concerning an emergency medical services call involving a two-year-old boy found uncon-
scious and not breathing by his father.
When deputies arrived, the distraught parent was performing CPR on the child,
Taijade Wan. EMS personnel rushed the youngster to Citrus Memorial Hospital where he
was pronounced dead at 10:10 a.m.
The boy’s older, three-year-old brother and the victim may have ingested some of
