Driver in single vehicle crash
Pet Patrol
critically injured
A single car crash, around 6:18 p.m., August 6, resulted in the critical injury of
the driver, Donald A. Bunn, 30, of Homosassa. According to the Florida Highway Patrol,
Bunn s vehicle, a 2003 Ford Ranger, was traveling west on S.R. 44, at S. Crabtree Point (In-
verness), in the outside lane, and drifted onto the right (wet) grassy shoulder of the road.
Bunn s vehicle began to rotate counterclockwise, and the right side of his truck hit
a street sign. Bunn s truck traveled diagonally, across the westbound lanes of S.R. 44, and
onto the center grass median, where the driver overcorrected, and the vehicle began to travel
clockwise. The vehicle then moved back onto the pavement, and the truck turned sideways,
rolled over, and came to rest - back, upright, on the tires. “During rollover, the driver was
ejected due to not wearing a seat belt,” the report stated.”
