Crystal River shooting homicide
Remembering the past
under investigation by CCSO  morning
Jamie L. Seeger, 27, of Crystal River was found deceased, in the early
hours of July 25, after apparently having been shot to death. She was found inside a gray
Chrysler that was in the middle of the road at W. Cyrus St. and N. Reynolds Ave. in Crystal
River. Citrus County Sheriff's Office dispatchers were called at 3:00 a.m. with a report of
shots fired in that area. When they arrived at the area, deputies discovered Seeger's body
inside. Crime scene technicians processed the scene, and detectives opened a homicide in-
vestigation.
Seeger's body was transported to the medical examiner's office in Leesburg for an
autopsy. According to the sheriff's office, detectives have reason to believe that Seeger's
shooting was not a random act, but they have not identified a specific motive in the case.
Detectives have been speaking with family members, friends and associates of Seeger in
an attempt to determine a time line for the woman's final hours. No further information has
been released by the sheriff's office in the ongoing investigation.
