special day with loved ones and are excited to begin their new lives together.
Meetings - Some of the bigger issues that are coming up in the July meetings
are the new rules for the park/s on the 6th. Our Accountant Mr. Beauchamp will be here on
the 20th mid month to discuss the Audit report witch was very good. Also the changes to the
garbage ordinance will be on the 20th.
Sprucing up - Town hall has gotten a bath as we had it pressure washed recently.
Also due to a person in need of community service we got the windows in the fire depart-
ment bays de-rusted, treated for corrosion and repainted. This was a big task as these win-
dows are very large and have many many panes, they remind me of the windows in the Great
Gatsby. The paint on the building has also been touched up although it is not finished yet.
Firefighters Wanted - The Yankeetown Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department
would like to remind everyone of the “volunteer” part of their name. We are always looking
for a few good men and women who would like to get involved by serving on the depart-
ment. Even if you are not the biggest, strongest person around, everyone has something they
could do that would help. Even putting the run reports into the computer is a contribution.
The Department meets at 7:00pm on Monday nights at the fire station.
Get Well Norm - Councilman Norm Shannahan has been a bit under the weather. We all
wish him to be back to 100% as soon as possible.
4th of July - Commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence. Have
a safe and happy holiday. Good Night and Good Luck Dawn Marie Clary, Mayor of Yan-
keetown.
