Inglis man arrested for disciplining daughter
A 53 year-old Inglis man was arrested by the Levy County Sheriff’s Office, May
19, after an incident involving his daughter. According to the arrest report, the father stated
that he grabbed his daughter by the arm and pushed her into a bedroom wall because she
had used a cellular phone while being grounded for a school suspension. He said he held her
down while making an unsuccessful attempt to get the phone. The man’s daughter and wife
verified the father’s account of the incident. He was handcuffed and transported to the Levy
County Jail, charged with simple domestic battery and later released on his own recogni-
zance.
