If you have moved to town after 2008 you may not be aware of the Town's crisis
period caused by rapacious developers. The Town actually ceased to exist after enough
Town Council members resigned, preventing the ability to form a quorum. Doug was a
leader in resurrecting the town from the ashes, serving on a state-appointed Financial Board
founded by Governor Jeb Bush after a massive petition drive. He also served on several un-
paid stints over the years on the Town Council.
The Dames have donated thousands and thousands of hours for the Town's benefit.
