a search of the vehicle, but a K-9 deputy made a positive alert to the presence of narcotics

Steven Robert Vasquez, 19, 9420 W. Dunnellon Rd., Crystal River, was arrested
by the Citrus County Sheriff's Office, June 10, charged with grand theft ($5,000 or more,

but less than $10,000) and burglary of an unoccupied conveyance. He's accused of break-
ing into a 1997 Ford van and taking a 2014 Yamaha from inside. The burglary was reported

on May 25. The owner stated its value was $9,500. The van was parked in a fenced lot
owned by the victim's neighborhood. On June 10, a juvenile told detectives that Vasquez

had bragged to him about stealing the motorcycle. Detectives then spoke with Vasquez, who
admitted breaking into the van and stealing the motorcycle. He took officials to a wooded
   
lot off N. Shamrock Place in Crystal River where the motorcycle was found buried in sand
and covered with palm leaves. Vaqsquez was released on his own recognizance.
