Open House/Pet Adoption Event in Inverness, May 9
Come out to Citrus County Animal Services on Saturday, May 9, for a special Open
House/Pet Adoption Event from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. The animal shelter is located in In-
verness at 4030 S Airport Rd. - behind the Citrus County Fairgrounds, off U.S. Hwy. 41.
The event is sponsored by the Citrus County Foundation for Animal Protection and hosted
by shelter volunteers.
For this special event, not only will pet adoptions be priced very reasonably - at
only $10 for dogs and $5 for cats - you will have the opportunity to win dog/cat gift baskets
if you donate animal food, plus music, games, snacks and sodas, dog parades, tours to see
the new shelter renovations, pet agility equipment demonstrations; information about shelter
volunteering, pet fostering, training and general pet care; and more! For additional informa-

Raymond Hardy and Otis Brown were recognized at the Citrus County Democratic Executive
 
                            
Committee's (DEC) Annual FDR/JFK Dinner on April 18 at the West Citrus Elks Lodge in Ho-
mosassa. Raymond Hardy received the Democrat of the Year award, and Otis Brown received

                     
the Lifetime Achievement award. Raymond Hardy is a lifelong Democrat and was the liaison
          
between Citrus County and the Charlie Crist Campaign in 2014. Raymond is an active member
          
of both Democratic clubs in Citrus County and is now the Vice Chair of the DEC. Otis Brown has
    
been with the DEC since 2007 and has served as Treasurer for the past five years. Otis was
       
also the President of the Central Citrus Democratic club for three years. Raymond and Otis
        
were honored for their outstanding dedication and leadership to the DEC and the community

