Letter to the Editor:
Re: Inglis Commission Letter not sent
May 10 Inglis Meeting I will speak about the Charter and the Mayor’s duties. The
Commissioners will be asked to correct violations. The Commissioners voted to send a
letter stating their objections to Tarmac’s use of water and rock truck traffic. The Charter
says the Mayor SHALL approve all Ordinances enacted by the Commission unless in his
judgment they are detrimental to the best interests of the Town and he returns his objections
in writing.
He SHALL do and perform all duties imposed by the Ordinances of the Town and
by this Charter. However, he announced at the last meeting he was NOT signing the letter
I presented as mining was his business. That’s a conflict of interest and the Commissioners
agreed-upon letter was NOT signed by him and never sent to Bronson. This was the FIRST
time a Mayor has refused to sign what the Commissioners have voted on.
