To adopt an animal: Bring with you a photo ID (valid driver's license, state or federal ID.
You must be 18 years of age or older, or have a parent or guardian present to sign adoption
papers or reclaim a lost pet. The adoption fee is $20, but can be less due to the animals age;
additional adoption costs can range from $30 to $100 extra, depending on what tests, surger-
ies, etc. are needed. For adopting a pet or reclaimng a lost pet, the shelter will accept cash, a
check or a credit card.
If you rent your residence, your landlord's written permission is required. For any
dog or cat you own, you will need to provide proof of current rabies vaccination and licens-
ing. Animals are adopted with the understanding that an employee of Animal Services may
visit you to check for compliance with their adoption policies.
