Citrus Transit Announces New Schedule for Orange Line Routes
Citrus County Transit announces new schedules for Orange Line routes throughout
the County effective April 4 to create a more effective system in meeting ridership needs.
Regular passengers were notified over the last two weeks and orange signs designating
route stops have been added or removed.
The Orange Line has seen a steady increase in ridership over the last four years
since its inception. With 16,224 trips completed in 2012, Citrus County Transit reports
65,473 trips in 2015.
Although the Inverness Orange Line route had no changes, passengers will notice
slight changes in the other four routes including new stops and new stop times. Residents
are encouraged to visit www.citruscountytransit.com to find out specific information for
each Orange Line route or for questions, please contact Citrus County Transit at 527-7630.
Skate Park Closed for Maintenance
The Bicentennial Skate Park will be closed for maintenance April 6 through April

Traffic crash kills two





Homosasa residents

Two Homosassa residents were killed Monday, March 28, as a result of the 2015

Nissan NV200 van they were in colliding with a 2015 farm tractor at 7:00 am on U.S. 19 in

Levy County, 1.8 mi. north of County Rd. 347, south of Chiefland.

The female driver of the Nissan van, 81 year-old Mary Campbell, was transported

to UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL and was pronounced deceased there at


According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Ms. Campbell's van was traveling north-

bound on U.S . Hwy. 19 in the outside, right lane. Mr. Quinlan was driving the farm trac-

with the left rear of the tractor. The van rotated counter clockwise while traveling to the
east shoulder and struck a cement culvert before coming to rest in a ditch, facing northeast.
  

Upon impact, the tractor rotated counterclockwise while traveling to the east shoulder when
it came to rest, facing southwest.
       
This crash remains under investigation, and charges are pending the outcome of the
       
investigation.
    
