After discussing the budget a motion was made and passed 3-2 to not allow the
police cars to be taken home after a two week period from the night of the vote. The excep-
tion would be for the K-9 officer to continue to transport the dog. The cars could still be used
while on duty for emergencies and going to court duty. A lengthy discussion especially about
the cost of gas and maintenance of the IPD cars preceded the vote.
The commission voted to open the Inglis Town Hall again Monday through Friday
8 to 5 to accommodate the citizens instead of the 4 days Tuesday through Friday. Mayor
Kirkland said she was for department heads putting business cards out at town hall with the
commissioner s phone number and when complaints or questions come in the person could
take the card and get answers from the commissioner instead of town hall workers taking
time out to attend to these matters.
A report that no more millings for the roads in Inglis were available because DAB
had cut the town supply off because he was concerned about the police issue. A request was
made for verification from DAB about the status of the millings.
A motion was made and passed 4-1 to not renew Inglis Town Attorney Norman
Fugate s contract after 14 years of service to Inglis. The turning point to dismiss Fugate in
this action was the special meeting called by Fugate to see what stand to take in court on
amendments 3&6. Fugate in the court when asked to speak for the town told the judge he
