As I write this I
don’t know who will pre-
vail in Tuesday’s election.
I feel a strong undercurrent
that tells me the people of
Inglis are disappointed with
the operation of the Inglis
Police Department. So dis-
appointed it could determine the results
of who will represent the town in the
months to come. I hope that cooler heads
prevailed. We need police protection.
A committee was formed a few
years ago to recommend a police chief
from a list of applicants to succeed the
then recently resigned chief. The com-
mittee was composed of some very fine
people and I was honored to serve on it.
After several sessions of talks
we came to a conclusion as to who to rec-
