Love It or Leave It
It's no secret that my prefer-
ence for place to call home is not
here. I had the `luck of the draw'
to be born and raised here in the
U.S.A. and have had no choice
for the majority of my life. As
people have reminded me count-
less times, there is good and bad everywhere
and `here' is better than most. I have to won-
der by what measure that statement is sup-
ported; I've wondered that as many times as
people have told me to `love it or "leave" it'.
About three years ago I was in the
throes of one of these love it or leave it dis-
cussions with a dear friend (who has since
left the country I might add) and was chal-
lenged to use my camera and artistic eye to
"find the beauty" in Inverness, Citrus County,
Florida, and this nation in general. Since that
line was drawn in the scrubby sand of my
good old homeland, I've tried to aim my lenses
at what I find to be the most beautiful things
present in our community.
