Parents arrested, related to the death
Remembering the Past

The parents of the toddler who
dogs at their home in Crystal River on Sat., Dec. 6, were arrested on Dec. 22,
charged with child neglect with great bodily harm and murder perpetrated
without any design to effect death. Their total bonds were each set at $20,000.
The warrants were served on Christopher Louis Camejo, 29, and Claudia A.
Scarbrough, 31, both of 8352 W. Oak St., Crystal River.
The Medical Examiner s autopsy on the two year-old child, Chris-

topher Camejo, revealed that the cause of his death was consistent with a dog
attack. Four Rottweilers and an additional dog were removed from the resi-
dence on Dec. 6 and taken to the Citrus County Animal Shelter. Information
released at the time of the incident said the dogs would not be put down at that
time because they are evidence in this case.
The toddler s father, Christopher Louis Camejo, 29, was also taken
into custody, the evening of his son s death (Dec. 6) on a misdemeanor charge Scarbrough
- violating an injunction for protection - that was not related to the child s
death.
