Citrus County to host Census Job Fair

The Citrus County Commission with host a Census 2010 Job Fair at the Lecanto Gov-
ernment Building on Friday, Dec. 18, for any citizens interested in finding out about local
employment with the Census Bureau in the upcoming 2010 Census.
Friday s job fair will be from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Lecanto Government Build-
ing, which is located in the government complex at 3600 West Sovereign Path. Residents
can find out about and apply for the approximately 1,000 jobs that will be available locally.
The application process involves a 28-question, 30-minute, multiple choice test to mea-
sure clerical, reading, interpretative and organizational skills. It can be taken at the job fair
throughout the day.
Hiring will begin in January with peak hiring from February 2010 through the end of
May 2010 for the temporary jobs, most lasting 5 to 10 weeks. Jobs include Census Takers,
Crew Leaders, Crew Leader Assistants, Recruiting Assistants and Census Clerks.
Most
positions require U.S. citizenship, as well as a driver s license, the use of a vehicle, and a
valid Social Security number (bring card), and each applicant will undergo a background
check. Applicants must be 18 or older. For other identification documents that can be used,
