Fire lit up the sky Saturday night just before midnight as the rental home of Mike
Lamb went up in flames. The home was located east of Inglis on SE 105 Terrace, Inglis. Fire
trucks from all departments surrounded the block of homes, keeping the fire from spreading to
other residences as the fire was fought.
Longtime resident April Harber's son was on their roof across the street spraying it
with water to protect it against all the drifting ashes that spread 2 blocks away.
Amber Reid, who lives across from the involved home, said she saw the fire when
she checked out noises she heard outside. Reid said she saw small flames in the rear of the
home and woke up her boyfriend Jonathan Jarrett then called 911. Jarrett went to neighbors to
alert them. Amber said around 11:45 PM when no one was showing up she called fire fighter
Jason Maughon who arrived 10 minutes later. By this time Reid said the house was fully on fire
and about 10 to 15 minutes later the police and fire trucks showed up. The home was a total
loss. There were no injuries reported. Photo & story by Sally Price.
