Jeanette Scorzelli
and  Ashton  Turner
were joined in mar-
riage Saturday at the
Winding River Garden Club Park in Yan-
keetown. The wedding site was chosen
because of it’s beauty and serenity. The
passive park has seen many celebrations
and matrimonial ceremonies over the 27
years it has been in the hands of a dedi-
cated group of women who formed the
Winding River Garden Club back in the
early 80’s with full support of the town.
The women’s goal was to save a piece of
overgrown swamp land and turn it into a
natural place of beauty to be enjoyed by
future users seeking what little was left of
natural Florida on the water front.
The 25 women who dedicated all
these  years to their cause are survived
with only 2 original members, Dot Cason
and Gladys West. 15 other members have
joined on in their places and upheld their
promise to keep  this place of beauty in
